Meronk ranked 11th in the Challenge Tour final
Adrian Meronk came in 11th in NBO Golf Classic Grand Final – the last tournament of this year’s Challenge Tour cycle, played in Oman. The best Polish golfer was ranked 30th in the Road to Oman ranking.
The representative of Toya carded a 281 (-7) in four rounds at the Al Mouj golf course in Muscat – the result which won him an award amounting to 10,000 euros. The tournament in Oman was dominated by Clement Sordet from France, who finished at -15 and took second position in the ranking. The first place was defended by Tapio Pulkkanen from Finland. The top fifteen was automatically qualified to the European Tour.
“I finished the Challenge Tour at 11th position. In Road to Oman, I was ranked 30th, which gives me an incomplete status in the European Tour in 2018. I’m satisfied with my last two tournaments and what I’ve achieved so far. I sincerely thank everybody for cheering on me, which I can feel during every tournament,” wrote Meronk on his Facebook profile.
The multi-medalist of Polish championships can still play in the first European league since, earlier, the second place in the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge tournament granted him the full right to play in the professional league, Challenge Tour 2018, and he won the chance to participate in the final tournament, i.e. Qschool (European Tour – Qualifying Schools). The best 25 participants of the tournament, held between 11 and 16 November (6 rounds!) at the Spanish golf course Lumine Golf Club w Tarragona, will win a pass to the European Tour.
